I love making lists, and the needs list for an adoption is the best. This is the funnest part of adoption prep, in my opinion.Β And the best part is that the ninos are joining in this time. They remember the gifts that they found on their beds when they first came home. This morning, Daniel asked if they can do the same for the new ninos. *sniff sniff*
Here are my lists for today!
What we need:
1. gate and alarm for stairs
2. motion camera for hallway
3. comforters and pillowcases for all three beds
4. Size 3T clothes (girl)
5. Size XS/S or 5/6/7 clothes (boy)
6. Shoes, shoes, shoes
7. Two booster seats for kitchen table
8. Two plastic step stools for kids’ bathroom
To Do:
1. Decorate girls’ room
2. Organize boys’ closet
3. Buy church clothes for Sunday
4. Buy costumes for Halloween
5. Sort through bins of Juan and Danny old clothes
The list continues to grow, and that makes me so happy. Bring on the shopping!
Soon enough I will be in the midst of correcting behaviors and teaching routines. So, for right now, I am just enjoying the few days we have of “getting ready.”
I hate unsolicited advice, but here I am. My 3 year old won’t use a booster seat, even when we go out to eat. Unless she’s used to it, or your table is extra high, you may not need it. Happy shopping! (I love buying kids clothes and usually end up spending more than I planned and buying more than I really need.)

I’ll look through Brook’s old clothes in that size and you can take some when you come during Thanksgiving π Can’t help you on the boy stuff though π

Oh, and my two smallest used boosters at home and eating out until recently because. It makes my own life easier. Plus, I prefer that they sit properly. So I am still searching. The new ones from the store are much more expensive than I am willing to pay. I’m sure I can pick one up at the thrift store for pretty cheap. It is pretty low on my priority list though. π

Also I completely agree about the booster’s! I’m not a knee on chair mom either! In some cases ok but at home it’s a necessity to keep them at a good level for eating and sitting! Wish Spence was grown out of his I’d give it to you! You can find some traveling one’s like I have at BL for not too bad of a price! I think their cheaper than the other’s but not sure!
Good argument in favor of the booster seat. I wonder if it’s too late to break my girl in to using one again?

I can almost imagine my adoptive parents making lists like this prior to my adoption! π It’s a warm fuzzy feeling π I am adopted and IΒm just trying to come to terms with the whole thing, you know?
